Flying Disc Equipment
Discs
When you begin training your dog, it is important to choose the proper discs. Cheap, hard, plastic discs that are carried by many pet stores can be harmful to your dog should they break. This can lead to severe damage to a dog's gums and mouth. As a handler, you have many choices as to the proper gear. Fastback discs, by Wham-O, have been the standard for many years. However, disc doggers now have more options. Hyperflite and Hero Disc have developed canine discs that are less likely to shatter and are safer for you dog.
  Vaulting Vests
If you intend to vault your dog, you will also need protection. While vaults are not necessarily an important trick to win a competition, they are very popular among disc enthusiasts. Be sure to purchase a quality vaulting vest from a specialist in dog sports, such as Hyperflite. This will protect you from the dog's claws as well as provide your dog with a better platform when performing a vault. Both you and your dog will be more confident when the appropriate procautions are taken.

Agility Equipment
For the backyard agility dog and handler team, simple equipment made from PVC pipe can be sufficient for a great agility workout. However, items such as a dogwalk and A-frame should be very sturdy. Keep your dog safe and away from any questionable equipment.   For handlers with a serious appetite for agility competition, you can locate a dealer that specifically builds or sells regulation agility equipment. Retailers, such as AffordableAgility.com, offer a variety of equipment ranging from standard jumps, and tire jumps to dogwalks and tunnels.
